Volunteer With Us

All of our work is supported by our community of amazing volunteers who help us with everything from inoculating mushroom block, to DIY to organising events. We regularly organise volunteer socials and events that are aimed at community building and opening up space to feed into the project. We create opportunities for volunteers to learn and lead whenever possible.

Our community is majority neurodivergent and queer. Everyone is welcome as long as they are committed to ensuring that our spaces are accessible and safe for our disabled, trans and immigrant comrades.

VOLUNTEER SHIFTS

Tuesdays: 2-5 (DIY/farm care/worm care)

Fridays: 2-5 (Inoculating mushroom blocks)

We also offer occasional weekend opportunities and have a volunteer lead events organising group that meets once a month on weekday evenings.

You do not need to make a regular commitment to volunteer with us, you can simply sign up for different shifts as and when you are available.

“I really love Rhyze and talk about how important a part of my life it is and how great mushrooms are to as many people I can. It has been an essential part of moving my life to Edinburgh and I am immensely grateful. You are open and accessible and really are so committed to sharing knowledge and resources. You don't only talk the talk, you really, really DO it!” - Rhyze Volunteer
